A rare 19th Century Scrimshaw cut throat razor. Handle is made out of bone and has been etched with a sperm whale and a compass inside a wreath. The etching is well done and looks great on the bone. It is fitted with a brass pin to the bottom and a Sheffield steel blade attached to the top with a steel pin J.Nowill & Sons Sheffield on the side of the blade with the crossed keys and star icon with a capital D underneath. There is a slight small chip to the inside of the back bone handle.
