Watercolour By J.C.Jonas
Early 20th century watercolour of a seascape by J.C.Jonas. Believed to be Joachim Churt Jonas.
The lovely vibrate colours on this really do catch your eye. With no foxing and in great condition this watercolour is a beautiful thing.
Depicting the Dorset coast, with a large chalk cliff face and green fields on top also a building at the top of the cliff.
This Watercolour features a house lodged in the green grass coming down the side of the cliff. Then we move on to a beautiful sandy beach where you have a person working on either pulling barrels in or out the water, next to a boat.
A load of sails looked to be beached while you have various small sailing ships going out to sea. In the distance there is a fuel powered ship in the shape of a naval vessel coming from behind the cliff. Seagulls flying around and all this under a beautiful sky with a few clouds in it.
This watercolour is a really well painted watercolour and well looked after. Finished with a white cardboard border and fitted into a gilt frame.
