19th century french medallion of the Viscount Palmerston Henry John Temple. Who was prime minister twice for the united kingdom in mid 19th century. Moulded in Bois Durci (dung wood), was used as an ebony or hard wood substitute and was made from hard wood sawdust mixed with animal blood that was heated and compressed in a mould.
