Antique Mid 19th Century Silk Royal Standard Flag Royal Coat of Arms. The motto "DIEU ET MON DROIT" (God and my right) is displayed to four points of the royal coat of arms, and the motto of the Order of the Garter, "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" (Shame on him who thinks evil of it), surrounds the shield. The mid 19th century dating around 1830 to 1860, is housed in this lovely oak coloured frame fixed to the back board and clear glass over the front. The frame has minor bits of damage from storage and being moved about. The flag has age related damage to it with rips in the silk flag.
